Get Re-energized

We hope you had a great 4th of July week last week and find yourself back in the gym hitting your workouts hard this week. This week is all about detoxing and re-energizing. If you want to hit your goals, then the health, recovery, and sleep side of the equation is just as important as your workout intensity.

THINGS TO PRACTICE:

1. Try fasting for a day. Fasting can be a great way to cleanse your body mentally, chemically, and physically. Try performing a fast from dinner one night to dinner the next night for starters. Make sure to stay well hydrated and perform this on a day you don’t have a tough workout planned. If you have a pre-existing medical condition such as diabetes, make sure to consult your physician before starting your fast.
2. Get rid of your screen time. We all spend way to much time on screens. Computers, tablets, phones, and TV’s are everywhere we turn. Most of us are so attached to our phone that we can even physically feel when it is not with us. Make a goal this week to spend an hour or two per day without any screen time. Even plan a day this week where you get rid of screens all together.
